GAT Sport Carbotein
GAT Sport Carbotein is a high-performance carbohydrate formula built for glycogen loading, sustained energy and faster recovery. Six specialty carbohydrates work alongside branched-chain amino acids, electrolytes and citric acid cycle intermediates to fuel your muscles before, during and after training — so you can hold output deeper into a session and get back to it sooner.
Fuel The Work, Then Refill The Tank
Glucose is the body's preferred fuel during high-intensity training, and muscle glycogen is where it's stored. When those stores run low, output drops and fatigue arrives early. Carbotein delivers a carbohydrate blend engineered for rapid yet sustained glucose delivery, sparing glycogen during training and replenishing it afterwards.
GAT Sport Carbotein: Key Benefits
- Six specialty carbohydrates – A weighted blend designed for fast, sustained glucose delivery.
- Promotes glycogen loading and replenishment – Tops up muscle fuel stores before and after training.
- Supports muscular output and endurance – Helps you sustain intensity and delay early fatigue.
- Includes BCAAs – Branched-chain amino acids to support muscle anabolism during hard training.
- Electrolytes included – Supports hydration through long or high-sweat sessions.
- Concentrated calorie source – Useful for hard-training athletes in a mass-building phase.
- Flexible timing – Formulated for pre-training, intra-workout sipping or post-training recovery.
What's In The Carbohydrate Blend?
Rather than relying on a single carb source, Carbotein combines six, each chosen for a different job:
- Maize Maltodextrin – Promotes low-osmolality conditions for more efficient absorption.
- Rice Maltodextrin – Disperses rapidly in solution for quick availability.
- Potato Starch – Also supports low-osmolality conditions in the gut.
- Fructose – Supports glycogen replenishment and improves flavour.
- Fibersol® – An ultra-low glycaemic index dietary fibre.
- Oligodextrin – A low glycaemic energy source for more sustained delivery.
Low-osmolality carbohydrates matter more than most people realise. A drink that's too concentrated sits in the stomach and can cause discomfort mid-session, which is exactly what you don't want during a heavy set or a long ride. Blending sources with different absorption profiles keeps the drink comfortable while delivering a meaningful carbohydrate dose.
Who Is Carbotein For?
This suits lifters in a mass-building or high-volume phase who need the calories and the recovery, endurance athletes needing fuel and hydration through long efforts, and anyone whose training sessions run long enough that they're finishing flat. It's also useful for athletes training twice a day, where refilling glycogen between sessions is the limiting factor.
How To Use GAT Sport Carbotein
Mix each serving with 175–235ml of cold water in a shaker, water bottle or blender, with ice if preferred. Add a further 90–120ml of water for each additional serving used.
Pre-Training
Drink one serving 15–30 minutes before training to spare muscle glycogen and prevent early fatigue.
During Training
Drink half a serving every 30 minutes to support glucose levels and sustain muscular output. Endurance athletes in prolonged events should sip one serving in 235–300ml of water for additional energy and hydration.
Post-Training
For sessions up to 90 minutes, take half to one serving within 40 minutes of finishing, followed by at least 20g of quality protein. For sessions longer than 90 minutes, take one serving post-training and a further serving 60 minutes later.
